One Saturday night I was on my way to my house after a few drinks and pulled over by Metro Cops.  Failed the Breathalyzer and was arrested on the spot even after trying to bribe the cops.  I had to fork out thousands of Rands for lawyers and eventually had to do community service to evade being found guilty. Luckily the charges were withdrawn but that was my last warning. I have never been so scared in my life thinking how bad it would be to have a criminal record and the impact that it will have on my career.  Since then I have never got into the drivers seat even after having 1 beer.  Drinking and driving is not worth it for the cost it imposes on you, so please do not drink and drive.

Drinking is fun and cannot be avoided for some of us, but think thrice before attempting to hit the road as you might kill or get killed and you cannot afford to live with that for the rest of your life.  Do not do it, I have evaded being arrested so many times before that night by either begging or bribing, but eventually you run out of luck and you will get arrested and have to face the consequences.
