No Regret Friday

So, so close!

Saturday afternoon, cloudy and wet, with mates at the pub.  What started out as a beer or two with lunch turned into a full blown afternoon bash, shooters and all.  We played pool and laughed and had an awesome time, we were all on top of the world.

After leaving (well, after being asked to leave for being rowdy) I jumped into my car and the another couple followed me in their car – back home to continue the party.  Directly after a deciding to brake too late for a corner – my car slid across the road and hit the barrier on the other side.  All of this would have been fine, only there was another car coming up the road that I missed having a head on with by about one metre.  I can still remember the looks on the faces of the two people in the two front seats – and this image will live with me forever.

I could have changed so many peoples lives on that afternoon, but thankfully did not.

I find myself driving past the scene of this incident to this day, which serves as a reminder as to what could have happened.  It could have been me and my family coming the other way – I am sure the drivers of the other car still remember this day, and whom ever they are I apologize with all my heart.  I have become involved in every drink driving campaign I can and am in the process of providing an alternative to drinking and driving that will change the way people think forever.

Thank you for listening – lets stop the killing!  Party hard and party safe – period.
