It happened a few months back and I guess I haven’t learnt much from the horrific crash.
The irresponsible drinking continues until I can’t walk at some point. Just can’t control it. However I always remember that fateful December 25 2010 day vividly.
The galz, the booze and the bradas were chilling having fun like we always do on the day before Christmas. I guess over-indulgence was the order of the day. We had it all coming our way, I mean the bank was calling my name, the bottle stores were ringing the bells and the ladies, oooooooohhhhh boy, the ladies were just saying ‘hi can you pls take me home with’ and the guys were like chill ladies we with our boy.
The party began. Drinking as usual. Went from one place to the other and eventually problems started rolling as always after you have had one to many. Firstly my cousin was arrested for allegedly drinking whilst driving. We managed to ‘sneak’ out of that problem by giving the comrades in blue an incentive.
After that we were ‘invincible’. Got Money (Check), Chicks (Check), Women (Check) and Bradas (Check). Then we rolling. Had the nite of my life. Eventually we had to hit the road for home whilst I was now the ‘designated’ driver. Got home safely with our squeezes. The rest was history… Until we differed with my squeeze about the way forward. I ended taking the keys of that vehicle on that fateful day and hit the road again. The journey was interesting at around 3 am. I picked an associate at the garage and started to check places for booze that were open at that time. Unfortunately they were all closed. We ended up on some gravel road trying to nowhere fast. Put on the peddle down and played music. A few minutes later the car was rolling and almost a write off. Had to call everyone and inform my couzin that his car is almost no longer there.
It was unfortunate to drive under the influence, to take the car at that time, to speed, not negotiate the way forward, not getting those proverbial kasi taverns at that time….
One thing I dont regret is wearing a safety belt coz it saved two lives, the only occupants in the car. No major injuries just a few scars thats it.
Now I don’t regret anything. No Regret Friday!
Thanxz!
