Close call

I was driving a friend home on William Nicol, both of us were very drunk. We got pulled over at Montecasino but were very polite, so the cop let us go (although I’m sure he could see we were out of it.) We carried on driving down William Nicol, as we passed Bryanston High I was taking a sip of my drink and cops pulled up next to us. I knew he had seen the bottle so I quickly found a water bottle and told my friend to hide our drinks.

The cop breathalysed me but I kept sucking instead of blowing so he eventually said he was going to take us to the police station. He made me get in the back seat and drove my car to the Randburg police station while his partner followed us. My friend was crying in the front seat and I was trying to apologize to the cop and asked him to let us go.

When we got to the police station the cop said that I would be breathalysed and if I didn’t do it properly he would lock me up anyway. I said, “I’m pretty sure I’m entitled to a blood test” he laughed and said to the other male policeman “this chick thinks she has rights.” This made me angry so I shouted at him and asked for his name but he refused and hid his name badge. Eventually the cops said they were letting us go and that they just wanted to teach us a lesson because they have daughters our age. They then drove us home. It scares me to think what could have happened.
