CHAS SMIT
Chas’ Band “PLUSH” won the Battle of the Bands in 2002, beating Freshlyground and 500 bands from around SA.
Chas was voted SA’s best guitarist of the year in 2005.
His career and life ended on 18th Sept 2005, when a driver who had been drinking killed him (Chas was a sober pedestrian who was crossing at a robot after a gig).
South Africa lost a talented guitarist, and Chas’ family and friends are permanently scarred and shattered.
