No Regret Friday

Anonymous

It was a very good friday, I was in a good mood the whole day, and I wanted to end that feeling with few glasses of wine to complete my day and brace myself for a the weekend, perhaps with another bottle on a Saturday.  While busy cooking, I decided to down a glass, and then few moments later I decided to rush to a nearby shop before they closed.  I decided to turn the stove off and strapped my baby in her car seat and off I went, I didn’t get very far, I was few metres from home, then all of a sudden, I heard a loud bang!  Someone hit my car from behind, I didn’t see the other car, as I had stopped to observe before entering the main road.  I wasn’t at fault, the driver of the other car admitted that he was late for night shift.  But every day I know it could have been worse, my baby and I were unharmed.  I have so many what ifs, and I cry when I look at my baby… thinking had I have had a full bottle that night, what could have happened, because maybe, just maybe, I would have drank 3 glasses already before going to the shop. I was lucky, I know that now, and I’ve learnt my lesson.
